Foods Around The World

Food around the World Project: Due Monday November 1st at the beginning of class

You are required to pick one country to research with a partner. The two of you must create a blog.  A blog is a type of website that can contain commentary or news on a particular subject; or function as an online journal.  You may choose to make your blog an informative blog or a journal type blog.  We will discuss both types in class.  Regardless, your blog you must include all of the following:
  1. Geographic location and climate of your country
  2. Common cooking methods used in your country
  3. Flavor principles used in your country (seasonings, spices, herbs, sauces)
  4. Meal schedule of your country (Do they eat meals at different times than Americans?)
  5. Example of a typical meal eaten in your country
  6. List / description of common dishes served in your country
  7. Foods eaten in America that originated from your country/ Which region of the U.S. does your country’s cuisine influence?
  8. Food habits pertaining to religious practices/ Traditional holiday dishes
  9. One food related interesting fact about your country
  10. Self and partner evaluation (Back of rubric: What were you responsible for? What grade do you think you should receive? Describe your partner’s effort and responsibilities.)
